Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 Kit

An excellent introduction to Electronics.
The best point in favour of this product is that it is lego style toy that does not intimidate a child with intricate electronic components. My 6-1/2 year old daughter started playing with it and was very excited to have completed her first project to light a bulb with a switch. Theories of electricity followed naturally when initially the bulb did not lightup. I showed her the shiny metal strip beneath the connectors and explained conductivity a little.

Another major advantage is that there are mostly no wires, and the components are hidden from view, giving it a very un-complicated look that a child can easily comprehend. This difference makes possible for my daughter to actually play with it.

The only problem seems to be the quality of plastic used. It looks as if it might break if a component was bent while snapping in. Still, I highly recommend this product.

ADHD son loves this
My son has a thousand motors working without this kit, I rarely can slow him down. I bought this and he loves it! He will sit and play with it. This kit stimulates his brain enough that he doesn't have to run around, tearing down the house, chipping the walls, screaching, teasing and peeling paint. Anyone with ADHD kids out there know what I mean? Gotta have something like this, for kids like these!!!

It doesn't contain a huge amount of pieces like a box of blocks and after a few tries with adult help, I would say an eight year old can do this alone. It isn't dangerous. There are a couple of parts that can be torn easily by rough kids but a lot of stuff can still be made any way.

Make lazer sounds, sirens, make songs come out, or fans, a ufo spin off toy (launches in the air),several types of games to play, a doorbell, a couple of computer part thingies, other light blinkie things, even stuff your kid can only dream up. Has lots of noisy sounds that will drive you nuts so send...

Cards Against Humanity: First Expansion

Hide the kids, hide yo wife
Imagine if the family card game 'Apples to Apples' was re-created by Hunter S Thompson and Charles Manson on an ether bender. That's what you get with 'Cards Against Humanity'. Highly recommended to adults with filthy, filthy minds.
Excellent, with one caveat
Cards Against Humanity is easily one of the most entertaining adult party games in recent memory. Think Apples to Apples, but less "family-friendly." Gone are the boring comparisons that made Apples to Apples (and the sequel Sour Apples) fun but dull. Instead, Cards Against Humanity pulls out all the stops and is filled with very adult (and completely politically incorrect and often simply hilarious) cards.

If you're not familiar with Apples to Apples, here's how the game works:

Players take turns being the "Chairman" and draw one black card that has a statement on it (Example: "Before I kill you Mr. Bond, I must show you ______________."

The other players in the game then take turns playing one white card (they keep 10 in their hand at all times) that they think best completes the phrase. The chairman picks their favorite, and the player that played that card receives one point. Game play continues and the first player with five points wins...
We love it!
The first expansion to the terribly fun party game: Cards Against Humanity! Definitely recommend getting it! Fun tidbit: when combined with the original set, all the black cards can fit in the expansion box and all the white in the original box; makes keeping the cards separate easier!

Refill Bands Pack of 600 Glitter Style 1 Rubber Bands with 25 S-Clips

BRACLETS
These look great in the picture. But don't order them. They do not look like that when you get them. You can't even tell they are to be glittery. DO NOT BUY THESE YOU WILL NOT LIKE. I DON'T WANT TO EVEN GIVE THIS A ONE STAR BUT WOULD NOT LET ME POST TILL I GAVE IT A STAR.
Not "exactly as shown"
Disappointed. I ordered these glitter bands based on the image that showed, um, glittery bands in nice colors including green, pink, purple, orange, yellow and blue. What I received are pink-ish, green, and orange-ish bands with very little glitter. I plan to contact the seller to find out why the item it is not "exactly as shown" as stated in the Amazon product description (it was available from several sellers).
Bracelets 1
The picture shown is very deceiving. My granddaughter had these already from another store but she wanted these with more glitter. Well... I can tell you that they don't have more glitter.
I am very surprised that they allowed them to place that picture.
I feel bad that now I cannot trust Amazon.

Ravensburger Enchanted Forest - Family Game

Enchanting memory and strategy game
My daughter has loved this game since she was six years old. The craftsmanship of the game itself is beautiful. The game-pieces and the little trees are wooden, and the illustrations are of the old-fashioned fairytale variety, very intricate and colourful. The cards are good,thick cardboard and will stand up to years of use. It looks like a very old game that one would find in an attic trunk. Winning depends on such a variety of strategy, memory, and just plain luck that a combination of ages can play concurrently and feel equally challenged. I recommend The Enchanged Forest highly. It is a feast of colours, a delight to behold and touch, and it provides good mental exercise.What more could you ask?

I am a child psychologist, and this game has been a fixture in my office for 15 years. It promotes concentration and working memory, imagination, and a fun competitiveness devoid of aggression. What I find helpful is that the rules of the game are easily adapted to suit different age groups. An outstanding game.
A flexible, imaginative, and beautifully made game.
The Enchanted Forest was my favorite game as a child, and I can still vividly remember it as an adult. The illustrations and board design have an old-world, "once-upon-a-time" feeling, and the wooden playing pieces enhance the fairy tale image. I thought that I would never again see this unique game, and I am thrilled that it is still available. Buy this game and you, too, will be enchanted!

Cards Against Humanity

Will ruin your life
This is not a review about playing Cards Against Humanity, it's a review of the fallout endured from playing Cards Against Humanity. Take it as a warning, if you will.

If you aren't a horrible person already, you will soon be. You will play Cards Against Humanity, and as others have said, you will be shocked, appalled, and worst of all, you will learn and adapt. You'll reach for your smartphone and search for terms you've drawn such as "The Übermensch", "Heteronormativity", and "The Three-Fifths Compromise". You will commit these and many other newly-learned words to memory.

And that's where it all comes crashing down.

At first, you might allow "front butt" to casually wander its way into a conversation here and there. As more of your subconscious fights to unleash the trauma, you'll find yourself uttering "nipple blades" and "mouth herpes" in the most unacceptable of times. You'll visit the Cards Against Humanity website and bomb them with...
Don't pay over original list price
I wanted this game, but it was sold out and 3rd party sellers were charging $70-$100 for what is usually a $25 dollar game. DON"T DO IT. You don't have to go without! Go to the manufacturers website. There is a version on PDF you can print at home or take to a printer and have your own temporary or trial version for $10. I did this yesterday, and my friends and I played last night. It was great fun! I still plan to buy a full version when they are available again at normal pricing, but I couldn't wait to try it out. You can also print a copy and give it as a gift with a little note saying the full version is coming. STILL it'll cost you less than folding and buying from a reseller. This is a Creative Commons game, and IMHO ripping people off is against the whole idea of Creative Commons.
I have played with over a hundred people, everyone has enjoyed it
This is not just an apples to apples deck filled with anne frank cards. The basic structure of the game is the same as Apples to Apples, but there's so much more to it. I've played wiith a bunch of distinct groups of people... a lot of whom start the game by ranting their hatred for apples to apples. But once we start everyone wants to play until they run out of cards. This includes the game I played with my family and my 80 year old grandmother (although explaining some of the cards to her was definitely awkward).

There's a real art in how the question and answer cards fit together. It honestly feels like you're all sitting around telling jokes. At a certain point the game comes alive and as you play various rounds the humor of the group you're in seeps into the game. It feels creative. So yes the mechanic is basically ripped from apples, but they've taken it and truly made something new out of it. You and your friends will love this game.
