Djeco Wooden Birthday Tea Party Set

the most beautiful 'wooden' tea set!
My 3 yr old daughter had a 'tea party' theme for her birthday and this tea set was the envy of all! Beautifully painted, perfectly sized for dolls, and durable*! My daughter just loves this set!
I kept the candles and sugar cubes (there are 4 teeny cubes and 5 tiny candles) on a high shelf during the party in case other the other children might have put them in their mouths(!)or lost em somewhere in the house but I know my daughter will enjoy playing with those 'choking hazards' when we play 'tea time' together. I considered gluing the candles in their places, which would be easy as they already fit rather snugly, but I imagine that as she grows older, she will have more fun placing and removing the candles.
We have a darling ceramic set that's already suffered a broken saucer and a tin set that 'feels wrong' says my daughter. This 'feels right', as the wood gives the cups weight and as if they are indeed full of tea...The tea bags are teeny tiny, we actually prefer the...
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with this tea set....
I don't like to give a bad review, especially for a wooden toy since we love wooden toys in this house, but honestly, I decided to buy this after reading so many positive reviews, yet when it arrived, I was scratching my head trying to figure out what all the fuss was about. For starters, it's t-i-n-y. Might be okay for dolls, but not for real pretend use for a little girl. Secondly, the reviews mentioned how nicely it was made and yet mine came with a damaged tea pot. Lastly, and I'm going to credit Amazon with the update here, but when I ordered mine, the sugar cubes were noted to be included as pictured. I notice that the description has since changed, though the image has not. I credit Amazon with updating the description, though the picture is still somewhat misleading in the event someone misses the description that mentions they are not included as pictured. Finally, it just wasn't worth the money. It was not inexpensive, but I don't mind one bit spending money on...
BEST tea set for any age!!!
I have purchased 3 of these... so far. It is my 5 year old daughter's prized possession. She has had it since her 4th b-day and it is STILL her favorite. I have bought 2 others as gifts and have heard from both moms that it is their daughter's favorite toy as well. It is SO well made and stays in great shape. All of the different pieces are awesome and provides hours of entertainment for your little one. I feel like we will have it forever and she can pass it down to her daughter one day. If you are hesitating b/c of the price... DON'T!!!!! All of the other cheap plastic sets are probably $20+ and will end up at the bottom of the toy box. This is a little bit more, and your child will never treat it poorly or get bored with it. And I guarantee every other mom that sees it at your house will end up getting one too. Fabulous unforgettable gift as well. I would say not for under 3 years of age b/c of small pieces. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
