Mattel Barbie I Can Be TV Chef Playset

Great Toy!
My 6 year old received this as a gift - she has many Barbie's and accessories - but this was one of her favorite toys this holiday season. She loves having Barbie cook on the TV set - it really has sparked her imagination as she creates new and inventive recipes for Barbie to make. The product itself is well constructed and easy to assemble. Would definitely recommend this for any child into Barbie.
Barbie TV Chef
I bought this for my granddaughter who is 11. She still plays Barbie's with her friends, for which I am happy. This set provides her hours of imaginative fun and is very good for older girls. She has seen cooking shows on TV so had a point of reference as to how they work and had fun with the dialog and 'cooking demonstration'. The set is so cute...the oven cooks your cake, the mixer works, the sink holds water, the fridge is stocked with necessary items, and all the cameras add to the realism. This is one Mattel's best themed sets for an older girl.
Cute, fun with lots of small pieces
I bought this toy for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. It comes with the doll, refridgerator and oven and the counter with the stove and sink and lots of other small tiny pieces. The doll is pretty and dressed cute. My daughter thinks its fun, but she plays with her other Barbies too when she plays with this set since it only comes with 1 doll and she needs an audience when Barbie is on tv. The toy is fun, but it doesn't keep my child's attention more than 15 min or so. It can be a great toy to any child who wants to be a chef or be on tv when they grow up. As far as durability, the counter holds up the lights and that part is flimsy and could break if bent the wrong way. Overall, its a pretty good toy.

Festivals of the World: Cinco De Mayo Barbie Doll

Satisfied
I bought this for my girlfriend, who is Mexican. She was delighted with it. Although she is 37 this is her first Barbie.
Product is exactly as pictured. Shipping was fast and arrived in perfect condition. Very satisfied.
brilliant doll!
This doll is really nice. Although I bought used one it came without problems and it was absolutely like new. The dress is beautiful as well as the face. I am not going to play with it - I need is as an object for drawing so I am very critical about the way it looks. This one is even better than I expected/wanted.
Also it stays pretty stable on it's own stand hired under a dress, but can be taken off the stand to play with or whatever.
The best doll I ever had! (I didn't have a lot though)
Great!
We love this, great addition to our collection, exactly what we thought we were going to get in a Barbie.

Barbie Play All Day Kitchen Doll #1

Barbie Homemaker
Compared to other Barbie/Mattel products available today this one is sturdy, cute and well made. With all it comes with a better bargain overall. I make a lot of my own furniture, etc. for our hobby but couldn't make anything so cute without tons of work. Nice that the entire kitchen is included PlUS just try TO FIND UTENSILS ETC. FOR her!
6 YEAR OLD
It's ok, but the problem is the back of the kitchen is cardboard and it falls out of place alot. Basically everytime my daughter would try to put items into the cupboards the back is cardboard and would fall out. It also does not stand well. My daughter played a short time with it and hasn't touched it since.
Boring - buy a dollhouse instead!
The real problem with this kitchen is that it's very boring. There just isn't anything to do once it's set up.

The toy is like a wall of kitchen. The wall has a refrigerator with opening doors, lower cabinets with a built-in oven (none of the doors or drawers work - they are just molded in), a counter with a sink, a window with cute fabric curtains and 2 open upper cabinets with silverware drawers below. The back of the fridge and open cabinets is cardboard with printed food.

The fridge has side by side opening doors, a molded icemaker, and 5 shelves. The set comes with many tiny accessories, including food, pots, pans, plates, utensils, and a blender.

But there's nothing to do! Once you organize the accessories on the shelves, there is nothing left. No table to set, no chair to sit on. The oven door doesn't open, and there isn't a cooktop to set the pots on. So the only activity would be to put some dishes in the sink and "wash" them...

Barbie Glam Vacation House

Just Average
Pros:

1) Simply the fact that there's a Barbie house that's under $100 and doesn't take up too much room, that deserves 3 stars.

Cons:

1) The walls are cardboard. That's extremely disappointing.

2) The Barbie house is portable and the furniture can be stored inside the house and closed up. Howerver, the furniture has to be put away in a certain order or the house can't close up and my 5 yr old has difficulties with this.
Bang for your buck
For a surprisingly low price, my daughters were able to set up a Barbie house with furniture and decorative additions that they will enjoy for quite a long time. Yet, when we need their bedroom to look immaculate, this toy can easily be packed away. It's large enough to satisfy my seven year-olds whose friends have the three story wooden versions.
Fun for the price and size
I purchased this, much cheaper at a store, for my daughter's fourth birthday. I wanted to get her a barbie house but didn't want to spend the money nor was I confident that it would be a hit with my daughter since she showed very little interest in barbies. Since receiving it, she has played with it non stop and all the barbies that had been previously collecting dust are being played with regularly. When it folds out, it provides plenty of room for play while still being able to condense nicely and not take up too much room in the closet. It has plenty of accessories, all provided with the play set and my daughter has little problems with setting it up and putting it away by herself. We did store the large accessories separately in a tub, it seemed like too much of a hassle to try to fit it all inside the house. All in all, I am thrilled with the purchase and am happy.

Barbie I Can Be Cooking Teacher Doll Playset

Barbie is a hit with my daughter
My daughter got this set for Christmas along with the barbie house. She was thrilled to get this set and plays for hours with it.
It amazing how pretty it is and I love it!! My daughter Samantha
I was amaze by the good product it is and also how nice are the things. I love it because I can play with it and also my friends...My daugther Samantha
Cute idea, but the kitchen is pretty flimsy
The bar that holds pots above the counter is flimsy, and the cabinets below don't hold very much. Otherwise, the barbie dolls are very cute.

Barbie and Her Sisters in a Pony Tale RV Vehicle

One of the more fun Barbie toys out there
When I was a little girl, I had a Barbie camper and remember spending hours playing with it. In fact, I still have mine! I wished there was a camper for my own daughters because they still love their Barbies (at ages 10 - 12) but I didn't want to give them mine to use, they're a little rough on toys and my camper is a (little bit) old!

So when I saw this one, I knew we had to try it out. It's marketed as an "RV" now-a-days and also includes a horse trailer.

First of all, this is one HUGE toy. It's like the size of six typical sized shoe boxes, stacked two high and then laid end-to-end. And that's when it's folded away! Secondly, it took a long time for us to put it together. There weren't really any directions on where the stickers were supposed to go, so we had to use the photo on the box and a lot of guesswork. There was a bit of assembly, for which there were directions, but it wasn't too big of a deal.

Now to the fun part: Is it fun to...
WOW!
I don't know exactly what I was expecting with this RV but whatever it was was certainly blown away when we received this!! It is very large and has tons of features to provide endless fun for hours!! The RV portion and the car easily come apart and can be used/played with separately. The camper/RV unfolds and includes twin beds, kitchen, tv, seating areas, reversible campfire/hot tub/pool, stable and tons of accessories such as plates, cups, hot cocoa maker, even sticks with marshmallows! The car easily seats 4 Barbies or 2 Barbies with a horse.

When my 11 year old daughter and I opened the box, everything was simple and easy to assemble - the only actual assembly was putting the stickers where they belonged and that was simple enough. Both of us were quite amazed by everything that was included and the size of the playset. My daughter even commented that this was better than the Barbie Townhouse! lol Personally, this would have been a toy that I would have been over...
Poor Quality, Gimmicky
I appreciate the idea behind this toy - pack many features and a large play space into a comparably small product that can be folded away. There are many, many features, such as the smores fire that reverses to a swimming pool, an RV that turns into a horse truck and an RV, beds that become sofas, and many more. It comes with quite a few accessories and lots of built in furniture. My main complaint with this is the whole thing is flimsy. Barbies CAN sit on the benches, but they must be carefully placed and the RV not bumped in the slightest way or the whole thing will jiggle like jello and knock the Barbie off her perch. The beds are the same way.

The picnic table has notches for the accessories to lock into and you realize why right away. The whole thing is very wobbly!

I consider it a better buy than the Barbie town house. It has a built in bathroom with toilet, shower, beds, sofa, picnic table and benches, a kitchen, a pool, and a vehicle. Plus it can be...

Barbie Sisters Family Camper

Lots of fun
This camper is so cute! My daughter received it for her birthday and hasn't stopped playing with it yet. She has the Glamour camper and we actually like this one better. The wheels actually roll so you can "drive it around", the hammock system is really cute and the whole idea of the sisters camping together is wonderful. Very pleased with this latest addition to the Barbie line!
Biggest piece of crap we've ever had
We received this as a gift for our 5 year old (and 6 year old by association). This is the biggest piece of crap we've ever had in our house and that's saying a lot considering all the crap toys out there (and in our house).

It seems you touch this thing and something falls off or breaks. My 5 year old really wants to play with it and has tried to on numerous occasions but after a while she gives up because it's always coming apart. It reminds me of the board game Mouse Trap--touch one little thing and it sets destruction in motion.

5 will take it for a spin around the house then have to stop and try to fix whatever broke.

The instructions to set it up aren't exactly helpful either and some of the furniture and the hide a bed are just plain flimsy.

Can't wait to take this thing to the range for target practice.
Dog door broke before first use!
The dog door broke before I even got all the stickers on it. Nice engineering Mattel - two super thin plastic hinges aren't going to hold up to any type of play.

Update

Now that's it's finished, it's worse than I thought. The revolving back door is terribly sub-par. When the shower and toilet face the outside of the camper, the curtain rod will hit the exterior "C -pillar" when you attempt to spin it back. You have to manually pull the rod inwards towards the center of rotation. NOTE: the vertical panel which divides the shower and toilet appears to be the issue. This panel has an upper plastic snap which frequently dislodges from the center "hinge". This makes it hard to spin the door, which flexes the plastic enough that the shower rod pops out. I think I'll try some clear silicone to keep the panel attached to the hinge.

Barbie Pink Glamour Camper

Whatever happened to the idea of a vehicle that moves?
Does she love it? yes. Easy to assemble? yes. Does it really roll? Well, uh, yes and no. My complaint is that it rolls as long as you don't have carpet/ area rug to push it on. It's a low- rider. And the side panel that opens out will not completely shut (opposite the 'tent' pop-out), therefore, it comes apart while the child drags it across the floor. So, I had to teach her to push it while holding that panel closed- sort of hard for a 5 year-old to do consistantly. I had Barbie and her accessories as a child and my complaint on the whole to Mattel would be- Why can't you make'em like you did 30 years ago? The quality with all the 'new' Barbie items just isn't there. My best advise is to spend your $70 bucks at EBAY on the 1972 version of this.
very disappointed it doesn't roll
I was very disappointed in this camper. I had the original orange one as a child and I played with it outside in the yard with my dolls. This new one doesn't roll because the wheels are not large enough. My daughter has to push it across the floor! The box claims "Wheels really roll" but they don't. Very disappointed, I contacted Mattel and they said they'd mail me $3 voucher for my problem. Not much consolation for a $70 toy that is poorly designed.
A nice idea but the original was better
My 6 year old wanted the Barbie camper because she plays with my old one when she visits her grandma. I thought it would be a nice addition and although she is happy to have it and likes the fact it has sounds, she was complaining in the first 5 minutes that the wheels don't work. Who designed a Barbie camper where the wheels aren't low enough to really roll across the floor (carpet or hard flooring)? And I agree with the other comments that the sides don't stay shut when you try to move it and the only storage space for the utensils/plates flies open all the time. It really is cheaply made. I think Mattel needs to do some serious design and quality control with its manufacturing plants. We also have the Barbie with the hair coloring and it is horrible quality. My girls still love to play with them and some of them are good like the John Deere Barbie...and I will say the Diamond Castle was well done when we bought that but the products are not consistently good like they were...

Barbie Dream House

This new house rocks!
This house is unlike anything Mattel has done before. Lots of new features, it is really cool. My 5 year old loves , loves, loves it.
Assembly was not difficult for me as I have put together MANY Mattel houses. However, I will agree that the instructions could be alot better. Just remember ,the columns all have shaped ends on the bottom that correspond with the whole you need to put it in. Like heart shaped, diamond, etc. Once you have that figured out - it is pretty easy. All my sounds work right.
Now for the con... the elevator. I am not completely sure I have it in right because the instructions for it were not that great. It does catch going up - not sure if this is a flaw or I just didn't install it right. But overall- this house is AMAZING!! And I love that the little accessories "stick" in the house. You can move them anywhere the way the house is made and they STAY in place... Major plus. Way to go Mattel. Do I think it was worth $159 (which I paid at Walmart)...
Difficult to assemble & not the best quality
This dreamhouse is far more exciting than anything I owned when I was a child! My daughter is only 3 1/2 and this is her first real introduction to the Barbie world. She already loves playing with it and I know that she will continue to use it and grow in her imagination as she gets older.

That being said, this dreamhouse is very difficult to put together and not the best quality. The company recently released a youtube video that helps you with assembly, which is nice because the instructions included in the box are not sufficient. I have problems with the two elevators getting stuck in-between floors (I fixed one thanks to another video on youtube that shows you how to remedy it, but the other is still not right). They are too difficult for my child to move, a bit of a disappointment when it is one of their main selling points ("two working elevators!"). It is nice that it comes with lots of furniture and play food/accessories, but the furniture comes unassembled and...
Barbie's new digs are gorgeous
Barbie's new dream house is AMAZING. I can't even imagine a kid not wanting to play with it. So many rooms, so many features, so many fun things to do, to move, to hear, to see.

Of course, before any kid plays with it you have to assemble it. Now, I'm not going to sugar coat this. If you think you can set this up Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed, think again. Plan on 2 hours for just in case for assembly. Plus setting it all up nice, and "test play" runs.

The dream house comes with the funniest instruction sheets I have ever seen. One is deliberately funny, and pokes fun at the 1000 stickers included (it's really not that many stickers, and none are tiny). The other funny instructions are the actual instructions. They are lacking. Thankfully, Mattel is aware of this and you can access a pretty decent YouTube video that gives a much more in depth explanation- although that skips over a lot. Between the paper and the video, you should be good to...
