American Plastic Toy Homestyle Kitchen - Colors May Vary

Walk away from this one!
As far as I can see, most of other reviewers seem to like this kitchen. This makes it a bit difficult for me to argue my case, but I'll try nevertheless. In my opinion, this is one of the least friendly, lowest-quality toys I've ever encountered.

To begin with, if you are planning to surprise your kid with this toy, make sure you have at least 2-3 hours in advance to assemble it. What you buy is not an assembled toy and not even a set of blocks. What you get is a set of molded plastic frames containing various pieces that you have to detach from the frames and assemble. I pride myself as being a do-it-yourself kind of person, yet the process of assembling this thing makes putting IKEA furniture together sound like a summer vacation. Now imagine having your 3-year old waiting impatiently for the toy to appear from the box and instead seeing the sheets of molded plastic and being told to wait "a bit." You get the idea.

This leads me to the other big issue with this...
Great Value With A Wee Bit Of Work.
We just got this kitchen today for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, and she loves it! I'm a bit puzzled over the reviews saying this is horrible to put together, because it's really not. It took me about two hours, and fourty minutes of that was with a two year old either on my lap or trying to play with it while I was putting it together. So if I was alone, it probably would have taken less than two hours all told. And it was even kind of fun!

Yes, you have to put it together-but considering that it's so inexpensive a little work is of course going to be required. If you sit down with an open mind and no distractions it's a piece of cake! One tip is using the required wire cutters AND a pair of scissors, as you can use the scissors to round off the rough edges of the plastic. Everything fit together nicely, and was well labeled and easy to read.

If you don't have a ton of space (we sure don't) and you are looking for an inexpensive, fun and not too noisey kitchen,...
Gread product for the money
I read alot of reviews on e-toys about this kitchen. It was rated middle of the road. A lot of people did not like the fact you had to assemble the kitchen. I found this to be quite fun to assemble and am giving it to our two year old for Christmas. You do have to cut the premolded pieces out and they will leave a little sharp edge. My suggestion is file it off. My assembled kitchen has no sharp edges(with a little planning) and it looks great. I would recommend this product for the money, but it is not for people that do not want to assemble a lot of parts.
